I have lived in.....

1. Phoenix, Arizona

2. Boise, Idaho

3. Albuquerque, New Mexico

4. Dallas, Texas

5. Reno, Nevada

6. Des Moines, Iowa

I see Phoenix, Las Vegas, and Boise on that list. I will say that out off the 6 cities I have lived in, Las Vegas has been the least miserable. I was more miserable in all the other cities I have lived in.

Personally speaking, I love living in Vegas. It's the wankers that have moved here from the west coast that I can't stand.

Its not the actual city that is miserable, its the miserable people that come here from their miserable places with their miserable lives and bring their miserable problems.

Being in Afghan is pure misery but knowing that eventually I will be back home in Vegas brings pure joy.

Agreed -- misery, like happiness comes from within. I don't doubt that Las Vegas has tens, nay, hundreds of thousands of miserable people. But they're going to be miserable no matter where they go.

If we could just take all the miserable people and put them in one big group. Oh, wait a minute. We already have. They're called Republicans.

Only been here 5 months, but I LOVE it here. I'm not wealthy, but comfortable. Can't afford to do everything I'd like to, but I have found this "town" to be friendly, affordable, easy to get around, very convenient to everything and SUNNY!!! - I feel truly blessed to be here. (figure the cost of auto registration offsets the lack of state income tax)

I think it's interesting they keep slapping these labels on the city. I wonder if they recognize that people tend to subconsciously live out labels they've been given. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if story after story kept naming Vegas as a great city with great opportunities and happy people if the whole city did a 180 in a few months to a year.
