nope wrong Jonathan.....by state law, only the person whose name is on the room may check into it.

You MAY, if your play is high enough, get a host to make em a deal, but if you arent above board about it you may lose YOUR privledges.

Some casinos are more stringent then others but its not worth losin AGAIN.

I have a friend who lives in LV, and has comped rooms all the time, what we always do, is check in together (both our names on the list) but only my My CC on file for charges. this is all done above board, and we have never had ANY Issues.

Of course this is really not a issue for me anymore cause now I have a house!

IF the rated player is there to physically check in you can pull it off...altho if it happens too often it does affect your player status.

When we comp a room...we anticipate that the person comped will be using the room AND will be playing at their normal play level. IF they do not, their player status is down graded. USUALLY not when it happens once....we assume that everyone has an off day of playing....but more then that and it WILL catch our eye.

Yes, there is a point system, she has mentioned that when she uses comps, or take a room she gets a point 'hit' - many times, I will get one of her cards and gamble with that, to keep the level up.

So far it works.

Just curious as a friend was trying for rooms and asked me this question.
Hotels are not like plane tickets that you can save some money if you book ahead of time. Book the hotel 1 week before your visiting dates to get the best deals. The rates are not really high considering Vegas has some very nice hotels and compare to other cities the rate are still really low.

I've been checked into more rooms that I never saw than ones that I actually used.

Yep....if yu had booked a room for LAST Fri and Sat and had booked it 6 weeks ago it would have cost you$79 per night....ONE week before it would have cost you $99 per night on Thur the night before it was $129 per night and on the same day of arrival was $199 per night.
