ok, I been here long enough to see that every single place has been voted "The Best of Las Vegas" Hell,
I was driving downtown and saw a sign above a "Short Stay" Hotel that was voted..
You guessed it.. The BEST of LAS VEGAS.

WHO votes in these things, who sponsors this.
I've tried all the rest, now I want to try the best
(that's what it says on my pizza box in NYC)

Jonathan

Yes, that award is given to anyone. I think I was even voted Best in Las Vegas by the review journal a few times. /sarcasm It's a worthless award. If a place doesn't have one it would be a shock.

Here is link to their website.

There is no "best" of anything here. People all have different taste and likes so my best might not be your best. For example, if you visit our wonderful town, your best might be shows and concerts so you might find Planet Hollywood to be your best while I like to swim so Mandalay Bay is my best. Maybe you like a family atmosphere so Circus Circus might be your best. Or you may like to eat so New York New York might be your best.

I vote Joe's corner pub the best in LV. It’s not like my opinion is worth anything. It's just a stupid marketing trend to push their business.

I think that maybe they eventually give every business a chance to wear the "Best" badge.

Most of the "bests" are broken down into incremintally smaller categories, like they will have "best Mexican restaurant" and then further on "best margarita" that type of thing. I've noticed that once a business wins the "best" category, it will then proclaim that for the next decade. So a restaurant may have signs up that says voted best of 2004, 2005 and 2009. They'll leave those banners up. Sometimes I agree with the polls, and other times I wonder what the heck people were thinking? It's all relative.......

I swear half the time the business just makes the claim and hangs the sign in the window/puts it in their add.

who would ever actually check into it?

and if someone actually did they could simply say "my wife says we're the best in Vegas!"

I have my own "Best" list.

Best comfort food: Pop's Cheesesteaks
Best buffet: Wicked Spoon
Best burgers: Create
Best coffeehouse: Bentley's
Best Mexican food: Casa Don Juan
Best Salvadoran food: Esmeralda's
Best Cuban food: Rincon Criollo

That's all I got off the top of my head. Dang, I'm hungry now...
