there was an interview with the owner/executive chef early this am on nbc (may have been a re-air from earlier in the week), and he said business was down 50-60% this year compared to last year... ultimately had to make the best decision for he and his family.

he was the first executive chef at emeril's fish house here in vegas.... rosemary's was open for 12 years... hopefully he'll open another restaurant....

When they opened 12 years ago, that center, and neighborhood, seemed to be trending upward. There was a Malibu Chan's at the other end that suddenly closed a few years ago, and a Marie Callender's that recently closed also.

I didn't realize that Nora's Wine Bar closed too.

NO, It could become a steakhouse, and they can call it

Economy keeps Las Vegas restaurants reeling - Dining / Taste - ReviewJournal.com

This answers a lot of questions I had too. I like Nora's Cusine. They have good Italian food.

(and while Nora's Osteria at 1031 S. Rampart Blvd. has closed, Nora's Cuisine at 6020 W. Flamingo Road remains open).

This is a real shame. That place had very good food for a pretty decent price I thought.

I never understood why they had such a horrible location though. You wouldn't have known it was even there unless someone told you.

Rosemary's Restaurant, open since 1999, closes doors - Business - ReviewJournal.com

The Krazy Buffet and Marie Callenders are always busy but I have a feeling the buffet took away alot of its patrons. The Japanese restaurant on the other end is still around or about to close. It is a busy enough small commercial center but the two restaurants, Marie and Krazy probably just took away from Rosemary.

It's hard to imagine Marie Calender's affecting Rosemary's much. They are pretty different. One makes TV dinners. I know the Marie Calenders I used to go to was/is on Flaming and Decatur. Perhaps that one closed?
