I know this will be a little vague but trying to get an idea. Could anyone tell me what their average power bill is for a house with a pool and say the house is around 3,000sq ft. L

I know it can vary on how cold or warm you want the house but just trying to get a average if power is alot more than here in Texas. Our power bill here for a 1,700sq ft housr with no pool is a little over 210.

Thanks for the help

We have an all electric 3000SF single story home. Built in the mid 80s with a pool.

We peak at about $600 and minimal at about 250. $350 to $375 average.

Not if you are ALL electric. Based on where he lives and the size of the house and the age, he may be on well-water (electric) central vacuum (electric) etc, heating would be electric........it adds up when you are all electric. I grew up in a house we built on Lone Mountain early 70s. All electric meant when the power went out you couldn't even flush the toilets.

The bill is higher in the winter. The minimum is in the spring and fall. We both cool and heat with a heat pump. So we are minimal in fall and spring.

We actually are pretty good about cooling. We generally only cool half the house at a time. And generally don't go below the high 70s.

We however waste light and appliances pretty much. The exterior lightning is likely on virtually every day before dark and stays on until late.

We generally do very well on the pool as it has an electric cover. So we only run an hour or so a day in the winter...just to keep the leaves cleaned up.

The age of your house and how well it is insulated makes a huge difference. I have a pool and my house is only 1500sf. My highest power bill was over $500 last summer.

Since then I have replaced the windows and re-insulated the attic. It should make a difference.

3,700 sq ft, 2 story house. Gas appliances, water heater, furnace. Two refrigerators. Every energy-efficient improvement and modification known to man installed, except solar power. House kept at the low 80s in the summer, high 60s in the winter. No pool. Time of Use electric plan. Coolshare plan.

$150 in July, $100 in June and August, $75 in September, $30 the rest of the year.

Gas is $15/month most of the year. Rising to $30 Jan. and Feb.

A friend of ours was complaining today that his power bill just came in for $490! His house is smaller than hours, around 1400SF and no pool. He keeps the a/c at 75. I told him to turn it up to at least 80 or more and get ceiling fans. He says it would be too hot.
He also has house guests that probably keep it cooler than he thinks when he is out slaving away at work. There is no way on earth we could afford a power bill that high. I wonder if his place is all electric.
