BB's are dark brown, they come in in ANY shipments from Asia, INCLUDING shipments of tourists.

How do they move? Do they seem to jump or hop?

Definitely not bed bugs. I've read so much and looked at so many pictures of all the different life stages of the. We don't believe that to be it.

And to answer the question of how they move, they crawl. At first sight, they moved so fast that I thought they were hopping quickly but they're definitely crawling.

Check out paper lice or book lice on the net. These are different than body/head lice.

Carpet beetles. They are tiny, round tan and white beetles. They are so little they're almost cute. The larvae are slightly larger furry looking things. They eat fabric.

Thanks for the suggestions. Bay leaves seem to be working great. Apparently they contain natural pesticides.

Most bed bugs are clear, unless they have ate. They look brown or a dark red from the blood.

I realize I never responded with an update. I'm sorry to bump this from so long ago, but if someone comes upon this post searching for the same answers, I hope it would help!

It turned out to be Springtails. The one in LV was by the kitchen window because they like moisture and that's the only place they would have found it at my Las Vegas house. However, it's very weird that I NEVER have seen one again here in Vegas. It was a blessing in disguise to have seen it right before leaving. The reason they were in NJ is because of much more moisture and it turned out there was a leak in the basement at the house! So these little buggers were there & it helped us find out about the leak. They are pesky as heck, but helpful I guess. It was on the the pillow because the head of the bed was right by the window.

Spring tails only mate outside mostly. And they can't be killed off. An exterminator won't be of much use until you find the source of moisture/mold from which they are eating & fix that problem.

Again, I hope this helps someone!
