I just came from DMV

My Uncle in Kingman just gave me his car because he can no longer drive.

I left the house [Alta & Jones] at 8:30 this AM
Got Smogged

Drove to Sahara DMV

Got inspected

Walked in and was directed to an Empty line [because I now have to use a cane]

Immediately waved to a clerk who looked at SMOG, DMV inspection, INSURANCE CERT, TITLE and handed me a number.

Turned to walk away from her counter and heard the number being called.

Went to the Registration Clerk

Was home by 9:45am

I LOVE NEVADA

So you're saying I should buy a cane?

Is the cane an automatic or a stick?

I was in and out of the DMV for registration - with no appointment - in four minutes.

Thousand Oaks, CA.

Just curious...is the cane a result of the recent surgery...or a temporary thing?

For that DMV location, that is wonderful! I bet if you went back now, you'd see quite a few more people there. I also love the DMV on N. Decatur too!

That's because no one wants to move to Thousand Oaks in California, lol...

That is one of the things we actually liked about Ohio and there are only 2 or 3...We have one dmv in our county and you can go there anytime of the day and wait under 5 minutes unless you got the billhilly family in there with all 29 brothers and sisters...I about had a caniption when we moved to Henderson because no one warned me what it would be like and I got there at 9am and left at 11:15...

It's actually an upscale city in Ventura County. LOTS of people want to live there - not many can afford it. I was paying more for my 1br apartment there than I'm paying for a 4br house here. Cost of living is a major part of why I left.

That DMV visit was a fluke - it's not normally like that. But hey, a four minute DMV visit is a four minute DMV visit.
