Hi, does anyone have any thoughts on North Las Vegas in terms of a place to live? In particular, I was considering purchasing a property for rental in Alexander Park (near Craig Road)....I recognize this is not the best neighborhood, but how bad do you think it is? The home itself is within a gated community, will that make people feel more comfortable?

Thanks!

If you realize it is a bad neighborhood, then why are you still thinking about it? It is a very bad neighborhood, not to mention that every day you will have flight after flight of military jets taking off overhead, and shattering all the glass in your house. I'm just sayin'...

I used to work with kids in and around that park. The area is horribly rundown and I was witness to several crimes in broad daylight. As others have mentioned the jets are so frequent and so loud that you can barely hold a conversation with someone. I would seriously reconsider.

Also for anyone wondering about gated communities. It really means nothing unless there is a guard regulating who is coming in and out. People routinely just drive in behind someone else in any gated community.

The time to worry is when the military jets STOP flying.

I've told myself a billion times not to exaggerate.

Especially since no isurance company will cover anyone that lives close to the Air Base....

I don't recommend that specific area but there are lots of nice areas if u give more specifics I can help u narrow the search. Oh and about our mil aircraft... I lived on base. U get used to it... to avoid living somewhere because of that is ridiculous.
