Just courious watched a show on the VIP treatment at the casinos. Does anyone who reads the from work in one or have worked at one. Do you get better pay than the regular employees at a casino and any good stories to pass along. It seems like a secret place (VIP) within the casino which most of us will never experience.

If you want true VIP treatment, book a suite at The Four Season's and pay for it, your drinks and your food. It will be much cheaper in the end. Unless of course losing a few hundred grand a year isn't a problem.

I think my question was mis-understood. Does anyone work at the VIP areas and how is that for employment. Does it pay more and etc. Just wondering what that world is like.

One of my ex's used to deal poker in the "big" games. The top players don't tip. Best tips come from sch muckss like us who can't really afford it, but feel obligated. (I know how to spell it but the program doesn't like it. It's not a "bad" word though).

Well, a few of them tip, but yes - it tends to be the exception instead of the norm. Dealers tend to make more tips in the lower-level poker games where a bunch of people are drinking & don't realize they're tipping away 20% of the pot they just won. I'm a consistent but not big tipper like most of the players I know & with whom I converse. I've started to track my tips by using $1 coins instead & it's surprised me how much goes out via tips.
Sam Grizzle, a cantankerous old fart who's played in some of the bigger games for years - has a favorite line (insert southern drawl here) "I'd tip ya, dealer, but I did all the work." Not only no tip, but he needles the dealer as well. (I've seen it in person a few times - glad I'm not dealing to him.) Grizzle got Phil Hellmuth upset enough several years ago that they got into a fistfight - would LOVE to have seen that. (OK, not REALLY, but the train wreck drama aspect of it would've been humorous.)

Good stuff thanks keep sharing it. I knew it was too good to be true I guess the difference between us regular Joes and Jills and the high rollers are true. The TV show I saw made it glamerious to work in a VIP area hats off to the folks who work there.
