Tivoli Village, Boca Park Shopping Center, Rampart Commons, Crossroad Commons, Fort Apache Commons are the areas for shopping and dining. As far as casinos, Rampart and Suncoast are in the area. A great suggesstion. Not quite as bike/walk friendly as Buffalo and Lake Mead but maybe better for an airport worker.

It is pretty much a minimum of a half mile to all but the most primitive of servces ...but between a half and a mile and a half there are best of the non strip city.

Fulton Park is the only ones I know near that area as an exception. They are like Sky Pointe in Centennial Hills, except selling for higher prices and with higher association fees.
Nope. Those were mostly purpose built.

Yup. Most everything between Westcliff and Charleston was true condo. You get some conversions on Charleston...but the interior was pretty much all condo or townhouse.

Some nice buys.

^^^^The condo conversion Park 1 @ Summerlingate is actually a decent place in a great location for shopping and dining but it has too many units, a large community. Angel Point Condos on Durango looks decent and a smaller community than Park 1.

Durango Trails looks like a nice place on the other side of Summerlin Freeway on Durango. This community is directly across from the Kellogg Zaher Sports Complex and the Bruce Trent Park.

Does the condo need to be in a "Nuclear Weapons Free Zone"?

I think your $700 a month isn't possible though, unless you live in a shack in the ghetto. Oh, and you'll need a car. /quote]

Hogwash! PIT+HOA+Insurance on a nice condo for less than that.

I'll bet they treat you very well at the casinos, Buzz, maybe a free Buffet for the 200 you lose in 23 minutes on the Triple Pirate Slot Machine?

Yes there are condos in Summerlin near the Westcliff Express bus to the airport, Whole Foods, gym etc. that could be purchased for under $700 per month, but I'm sure the HOAs won't allow his composting habit.

I'm sure some conversions are junk, but the best made condo I have owned was built in 1980 as an apartment complex. 2 x 14s in the floor. How many junk houses are out there? millions and million--very few were built as permanent rentals.

BTW, I looked at a nice condo in Green Valley (Henderson) for under 40K. At 180,000 it was upscale, now that the identical unit is 40K it is ghetto. My experience says more trouble came in when prices were sky high (and credit was sooo easy).

You did OK except they are not in Summerlin. You have to get west of Rampart...which is TPC...or north of Vegas...which is the Pueblo.

Nothing in Summerlin will go for $700 until you get to La Posada.... And it is really not close to the Westcliff transfer station.
