Looking at properties around Vegas for <150k...ideally a nice house with a decent pool. Is the SW the nicest area to look?

Also would consider a very modern newer condo.

Thanks

Summerlin is far west, not southwest. It's very nice to live in, but not sure if you can get a home with a pool for under that amount. Maybe a very small home. You can definitely get a condo for that or less.
There are many nice area's around the valley. Henderson/Green Valley, Silverado Ranch, Anthem, Mountains Edge, Rhodes Ranch, Spring Valley, Peccole Ranch, The Lakes, Centennial Hills, Aliante, newer upper North East, and more. Think the perimeter of the valley if you don't like being in the muck of it all.

Summerlin extends toward the southern end on the west side as well, from the Northwest side of the valley to the Southwest side. I receivedthe Summerlin South View Newspaper on a regular basis with information about the community. There are many new developments in the Southwest area in Spring Valley aside from Summerlin. You can look into Southern Hills. Everything new, apts, condos, single family homes, schools, shopping, hospital.......

I actually know that Summerlin runs to the south as to the northwest up by Centennial Hills. But it is still considered West. The South is Mountains Edge, Rhodes Ranch, etc. The newer part of Spring Valley is really nice.

So the question is where is the best place to live for $150K or less.

Actually you were answered. Any and all of those communities because it is going to be very hard to find much with a pool for $150,000. If you do find it and it's in one of those communities, then your golden.

Your idea of the best place to live may not be our idea of the best place to live. You need to give us more criteria of what you are looking for, the type or ages of the people you want to be around more, etc.

Look up the Summerlin website, part of its 22,000 acre development is in the Southwest. They have it in detail everything you want to know about the development and as I have said I receive on a regular basis, The View Neighborhood Summerlin South edition.

Spring Valley has a lot of nice neighborhood encompassing its area aside from the newer ones. It has lots to offer from parks/shopping/dining/schools/hospitals and the best part is its location in Vegas.

It depends on your lifestyle and preference, you will find properties all over the valley in your price range.

It's still west and northwest. Just a small portion is in the southwest. Like Sienna. The rest is west and northwest. I used to live right next to Summerlin.
Near Hulapai and Town Center. It is definitely green over there. I sure miss the shady tree lined sidewalks/trails.
