First, I want to thank everyone for their help with my Vegas questions in the last month or so. My family is happily ensconced in South Summerlin, and we are thoroughly delighted with Las Vegas. (although the U-Turn thing is hard to get used to... I've never lived in a place where U-Turns were legal).

I'm looking for dr recommendations... we need a general practioner (or internal medicine), a good one as my DH & I both have a number of medical issues that we are bringing with us. Also, my DH needs a retinal surgeon, so any recommendations there would be appreciated.

Thanks so much!

Since you are in Summerlin, check out Fremont Medical Center on Charleston/Apple across from Queensridge. Most of the doctors there specialize in internal medicine (DO's.)
Walk-ins are always welcome.

Come on, Fremont Medical? They are like auto repair shops. It's a chain. They diagnose things that aren't even wrong with you. Besides you'd never get the same doctor twice.

Call Dr. Danka Michaels. She's a great GP. She saved my life. I see her on a regular basis and she is really good and has a great bedside manner. 869-6190, 7373 Peak Dr. It's between Tenaya and Buffalo near Mountain View Hospital.

For the retina specialist, I see Dr. Jayne, 737-7258. He did my retinal surgery and I see him once a year for follow ups. He's pretty smart and you can trust him. He's on W. Charleston just west of Rainbow. Retina Center At Las Vegas - About Us

What's a DH...designated hitter?

Actually Buzz, there aren't that many doctors at Fremont, and you get the same one all the time if you like that particular doctor. I know this because i used to go there. I kept the same doctor for 3 years until my insurance changed and he was no longer on the plan.

Thanks PS & Buzz. I appreciate the rec's.

Buzz, DH = Dear Husband. Sorry... it's a pretty common acronym on most boards.
