Get a car. I spent some time driving around that area when I had a family member at Sunrise. I had guys walk up to my car. Some were just begging for money. And once this guy came right up to the drivers side and stayed there for some time staring at me. Very scary and creepy. After that I tried to never hit a red light, or stay far enough back I could move if I had to.

I've had people try to get into my car while I was driving. Our of curiosity, what did you do when the guy came to your door staring at you?

There's not much I could do. I had cars surrounding me on all sides. When I saw him walk towards the car I made sure the doors were locked and I looked straight ahead and ignored him. He had a crazy look on his face. There was definitely something wrong with him. I'm guessing he was about in his late 20's or early 30's.

In daylight hours, I would walk almost anywhere. I don't go out alone at night as a general rule. I'm not afraid, just cautious. Be observant and aware.

Thanks everyone for your input. I'm a little overwhelmed by the number of responses, but it all boils to advice that I expected (which is to use common sense.) Appreciate it very much.

TEASER GUNS ARE ILLEGAL

she gets arrested for that she will not be able to get her Lic. to work as a dealer in any casino.

Yea, you never know what state of mind people are in. There's a video I wish I could link but it's loaded with profanity. A guy steps onto the street somewhere in Vegas and just starts smashing cars stopped at a red light with a sledgehammer. Nobody does anything to stop him either.

Shoot some one with an anecdote?

Tasers are not illegal in most of the carry states including NV. I don't believe there are any restrictions on Tasers in Clark County or City of Las Vegas.

Staged-yes, fake-no. The sledgehammer is clearly smashing the car up.
