Hi this will be my first trip to the States and Vegas, (I'm Norwegian) .

I also love to play poker.

Looking for a place to rent for 2 months beginning next February.

Any recommendations will be appreciated, oh and my budget is up to $500 for a month. If it was up to me I would live in one of the casino hotels but Im not that rich yet....

Thanks.

Your budget is too low I doubt you will find any "safe place" with that limited amount.

Even the cheapest places which A 1 bedroom typically go for more then 500 are dumps. i would look at renting a room from a house which has hundreds of listings on craigslist if you want something safe.

I agree with the idea of renting a room. However, houses are generally further from the strip & Fremont Street than some of the high rises & apartments which can be on or within walking distance of all the fun & action. Craigslist is good, but I think you'd be better off getting info from a poker forum where 1000s of poker players go to find rentals. twoplustwo.com is the largest one I know of, also a local one is allvegaspoker.com. I played today at the Bellagio with some Norwegians-good luck!

Thanks for your advice , I found a place near all the action where they allow foreign visitors.

Holiday Royale Apartments only $600 for a 1 br studio with kitchen , and with all the facilities included sounds like a good deal to me , you can walk from there to the strip.

I would find a teacher that is looking for a roomate in Green Valley or Summerlin.

Both areas are about 15-20 miles away from good poker.

but, both are great areas. Besides, you really don't want to live too close to the strip.

Good luck.

1. How old you are?
2. What's your purpose for staying 2 months?

If you're in your 20's (I'm assuming), I'd rent a room from an apt with UNLV student(s). You should be able to find a room for $500 with some college students. It'd make your trip a lot more enjoyable having people your age to go out with and show you around town. Most of the cheap apartment complexes near the strip are really ghetto.

Why don't you shorten your trip and stay in a decent place? I would not live there if I were you..
