They hubby and I are staying at the Strip for T-giving and have some questions:

1. Are most restuarants and stores open on the Strip? We plan on staying there Wed night thrugh Fri night. I don't want to spend Thanksgiving Day gambling all day so I hope stores will be open (Miracle Mile, The Forum Shops etc).

2. Any super-delicious restaurant (preferably non-chain and buffet or sit-down is fine) to try for Thursday night or lunch?

3. What's the local newspaper so we can get the Black Friday ads? Where is the closest strip-mall that has a Best Buy, Target etc.?

Thank you for the input!

If you are coming from the strip.... take Flamingo to S Maryland and take a left. There will be a target on your immediate left and less than a mile further down S Maryland there is a Best Buy on the right

A good number of places should be open on Thanksgiving. And everything should be open on the other days that weekend.

There are so many great restaurants out here, it would be hard to say without knowing your exact preference. I would recommend yelp.com and the vegas.com restaurant guide to generate ideas and read reviews.

Our local newspaper is the Review Journal. You can also google "Black Friday 2010 ads" to find some ads online. And like the previous poster said, the nearest Target and Best Buy are on Maryland. In addition to the malls you mentioned earlier on (Miracle Mile and Forum Shops), other goods malls to look at would include Fashion Show and Town Square (both on Las Vegas Blvd).

We only eat out on Thanksgiving if we are traveling, but one year we had a really good Thanksgiving at Maggiano's in LA at The Grove. Maggiano's Little Italy Thanksgiving Menu

I don't know if our Maggiano's does Thanksgiving, but if so you should make a reservation. And since it's in the Fashion Show Mall you can kill two stones with one bird. I assume the mall will be open, although that could be one of the few times they close. Maggiano's is a chain, but a higher end chain. Las Vegas | Maggianos's Little Italy | Las-Vegas - NV

We're not picky so a good Thanksgiving dinner anywhere (in response to radraja's preference comment). Yelp is an awesome idea ... I will go on there!

Someone made a post last year, too, and several folks recommended Maggiano's. I'm kinda curious but I really wanted to try something Vegas-specific. I love Maggiano's so I know it will be a good choice.

Thanks for the advice everyone!! T-Giving is still a few weeks away so if anybody else comes on here, I'll still be reading posts!

if youre gonna do Black Friday, go to the Galleria Mall, or the Meadows Mall, or even the factory outlet malls off Charleston and Main or Warm Springs and LV Blvd to the South of the Strip. The upkeep is rather splendid and avante garde...The Boulevard Mall on Maryland is CACA of the highest order.....Avoid.

If you like Asian food try the Vegas China town. They have restaurants that are open 24 hours. Most people visiting Vegas have no idea of the delicious and affordable food outside of the strip.

We tried a restaurant in Vegas Chi-town once and wasn't impressed. I guess it is one of those luck-of-the-draw things. With Yelp, maybe I'll give it another try but a lot of the authentic places aren't on Yelp. Maybe I will find a gem though. thanks for the advice!
