I thought I'd become a soccer fan and watch the World Cup, but it was so exciting it nearly woke me up a couple of times. BTW: Did anybody ever score?

Ya know, we had a professional basketball team in Las Vegas for several years. Then UNLV fired Jerry Tarkanian and it went away.

There are about 20 Lakers fans around Vegas and then about half a million more who claim they are Lakers fans, but we all know they wouldn't watch them if they were winning

Naturally I'm a die hard WVU fan, but I agree on the Pirates and the Steelers. Being from about 100 miles south of Pittsburgh, and not having pro teams there either, most of us were at least Pirate fans.

The link to sports bars in Las Vegas is nice to have, but I'm not sure it's complete. All the Big Dog corporation owned bars are Green Bay and Univ. of Wisconsin bars because the now deceased founder, Tom Wiesner, played for both. I wonder if other bars are owned by former (or present) players.
No offense, Buzz, but when we would go to the Pitt/WVU football games and WVU cheerleaders would chant, 'Let's go Mountaineers' the unruly Pitt fans (NOT me) would chant 'Go home Mountainque*rs'. Of course most of us were young and drunk. I wouldn't think of such a chant now. I'm sober and mature . Sure is a good backyard brawl. I hated when Pitt/Penn State discontinued their series. I miss going to the football/basketball games.

Saw that bar list and there isn't one lousy bar dedicated to the Tennessee Titans. One day I'll change that and all 13 of us will get drunk and curse together.

What basketball team do you support now? Memphis, OKC?

I just based my opinion on my time spent living there, that's all.
Not a big time NBA fan, but I would say either Portland or Minnesota.

For displaced Pittsburghers, the Irish bar at the JW Marriott Resort in Summerlin is a Steeler bar.
