Do the Vegas casinos still use "real money" in their slot machines or have they gone to the stupid, stupid, "slip of paper" that you get when you cash out?

Almost ALL of the casinos I have gone to for the past few years have all gone to the "slip of paper" which takes away a lot of the fun of going. I had been toying with the idea of taking a Vegas vacation but not if all of the casinos have adopted the philosophy that a slip of paper is somehow better than hearing the bling, bling, bling, bling, when your money is dropping out of the slot machine hopper. If Vegas has gone to paper pay outs, I'm going to go somewhere else.

Thanks for your input.

There are some off-strip casinos that still have coin-op machines.

I'd rather carry a stupid slip of paper than a bucket of quarters. Nostalgia notwithstanding.

I agree I am not a huge casino guy but I would rather carry a slip, just easier.

Mermaids downtown still has coins. There's some others downtown that have some coin paybacks. The Sahara may still have some nickel machines that pay in coins.

In this day of corporate downsizing...the slips of paper represent a huge savings to the casino...not to mention the ease in backroom security.

and less compensation claims from the back strains of cleaning out and putting coins in the machines. Also, automation saved the casinos tons of money switching over to the ticket-pay system.

The machines still make a "clink clink clink" sound as the ticket pops out!
