I am a single guy in my early 20s and plan to go to Vegas in a month with a group of about 7 others (mostly girls, but girls I would only consider as friends). We're staying at the Luxor and although I've heard good things about it, I haven't heard much about its potential as a spot to mingle/hook up. How does the casino/bar/pool/club singles scene at the Luxor compare to other spots in town, especially when it comes to college-age girls?

If I'm not mistaken, Luxor has strengthened its social offerings quite significantly in the last 12-18 months (or so). I think they added a club or two, even on the high end. You can look up the names, but you could consider one of those places.

A lot of those sought after clubs came with a lot of BS, IMO. There are long lines, attitudes, etc though being in a larger group (mainly female) will help. They may prefer that you pony up for table service, which costs a lot of money. I doubt what you're seeking at Luxor is going to be that much better or worse than at the other properties.

In the late night hours at the Luxor I've seen a lot of well-dressed young people nowadays. I'd say it's not that bad a place to try.

i've been to cathouse, which is one of their clubs. i was there for a friend's birthday party, so i wasn't really trying to meet other people...

with that said, not as crowded as tao (venetian) or the bank (bellagio) on a saturday night... whether or not you think that's a good thing depends on your point of view i suppose.

There's plenty of single ladies all over the strip. I don't consider myself a "player" in any sense, but I've never had any problems meeting women in Vegas, either in the low-end or high-end casinos.

Just from my experience, the clubs on the strip are pretty much a no-hit zone when it comes to romancing the fairer sex. At least the ones I've been to were dominated by dudes wearing Ed Hardy and buying bottle service to compensate for their shortcomings, or annoying "girls trip" groups consisting of linebackers who are hell-bent on c***-blocking. And you have to pay exhoribant cover charges, imbibe watered-down drinks, and have your eardrums assaulted by bad hip-hop/"dance" music.

If you are very good looking, in shape, and rich you have a chance. Otherwise, not a chance in hell. The girls there (while good looking), are very snobby.

I could not agree more. I have only been to a few clubs in Vegas. Every time, I left within 15 minutes. All the clubs in Vegas flat out suck.

Just go to "Eye Candy" at Mandalay Bay. Its suppose to be the new improved ultra lounge. Best place to Mingle on the strip.
Its free entrance, lots of places to sit down for groups and barly a dress code.

Me and my Air Force co-workers always go there when we have large groups. Plus half of them dont like to dress up.

That last sentence couldn't be more true. Think about it... a below average girl can EASILY get attention from well above average guys while she is out with her friends in Vegas. It's very easy for men to get shot down by girls they probably wouldn't even give a 2nd look to back at home.

As for the first sentence... the well built rich man will have a shot with women that are so-so. The LV club scene is HEAVILY tilted in womens' favor. Those clubs do get old fast. It costs so much to get in and there is attitude coming from all sides. I once bought a bottle of water at Tryst (Wynn) and it was $8, so $10 with gratuity for a bottle of water. With gratuity, it wouldn't surprise me if mixed drinks are $15 each.
