No Townsend doesn't have anything. See other thread about Pigeon Forge fireworks. Gatlinburg has a midnight parade on July 3rd - it's a HUGE party - and they also have fireworks on the 4th. Seymour is having their first bash on July 5th, that will include fireworks that night. Maryville doesn't have any fireworks. Every single 4th of July event in a 60 mile radius of south Knoxville/Seymour will be in this week's South Knox/Seymour Times paper.

Townsend DOES have fireworks for the 4th. They may not be quite the production of G'burg or PF but they are still pretty good. If they are held in the same place as in the past, they will be right across the street from the Subway.

They should have something online about it. I guess they only want the neighbors to see it.

Townsend has a pretty good fireworks show. NJDevil is incorrect. It is advertised by the visitor center where most people stop when arriving into the Townsend area. You will have no problem figuring out where to view them since Townsend is small, anywhere is a great spot. You will not be disappointed since there is no traffic jam getting out from the viewing Enjoy your vacation.

Yes, Townsend will be a buzz with music at 830pm, fireworks at 9:30 which will be grander than before due to a generous donation. In the center of town, next to Highland Manor, or across street from Miss Lilly's chocolate shop.
Do get there early as traffic will be blocked off right before the fireworks start. Actually, I would just get a room for the night, so don't have to get in traffic. All rooms are so reasonably priced it would be foolish not to plan to stay.
Best hot dogs in town will be available in front of display area.
Best hamburger would be Burger Master along with doggie bowl of ice cream.
I'd spend the day floating the river, tubes from River Rat on Wears valley road at only stop light is my pick for tubing the river.
This is the year not to miss Townsend fireworks.
Bam!
