I've made my way down to Knox and for the time being I'm stuck solo in a extended stay suite. After about two days of working out of the room, I'm beginning to go stir crazy. Can anyone recommend a good place to catch a ball game on the tube, find some good conversation and maybe down a cold one or two. I'm looking for the West Knox area. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks all

I'll also happily take recommendations from folks who do some fishing around Loudon off Northshore drive. Some of those parks look like they have great fishing spots.

Hey stir crazy, plenty of west places will handle your choice of drinks, and many have cable for any games you like. Rays, right across from west town, has as many stations that you like and many go there to watch there favorite teams. Beef o Gradys, at Turkey Creek, also good, as is Roosters at Rocky Hill. Too many places to name. Some of the posters on here, offer fishing trips, and if you would like, you can rent a boat at Choto Marine, and fish your heart out. They have rentals there, just ask for Josh, and he will fix you up, and at the same time, introduce you to the Freedom Boat club, not a bad deal. Good luck, and if you want to catch the big fish, go to Ft. Loudon, below the dam.

The parks near the intersection of Northshore and Concord Rds. have good fishing. Very good catfish fishing in the channels under the bridges, BUT DON'T EAT OUT OF FT. LOUDON!! There are still PCB's and mercury being measured. If you want to eat, you'll have to go to Tellico, Douglas, or Norris.

Joey,

Take your pick on a place to catch a cold beverage, Bailey's, Wild Wings, Rookies, The Prince Deli, Ray's ESG, they're all good places to catch a game in West Knox. Now as far as the fishing....if you want to do it yourself, the only realy feasible place without a boat is the fishing piers in Concord Park off Northshore. For cats, some chicken liver rolled up in panty hose (so it doesn't come apart from the little ones) is good, toward the main channel about 50 feet out. For blue gills and crappie, live small shiners or tuffies wil do the trick. If you want a vastly fun day out fishing and can afford a few bucks, you can't beat this guide linked below, he's got all the gear, know-how, and expertise for some big fish. He'll even crack a beer with ya and shop talk....
