Hi Everybody,

We are looking to relocate, I have been looking at Tennessee, Knoxville area, Maryville and then North Carolina,Cary, Chapel hill. Schools are very important. I have been looking on Great schools and Neighborhood scout. We are looking for a little land, close to people not on top, close to shopping and restaurants ,since my husband is in the restaurant industry.House up to 250,00 less who be great, Low crime, we like a downtown with community over sprall. I guess I am asking if anyone knows these areas who can give me pros and cons? Whats your opinion? We will be rying to drive up from Florida see the areas in North carolina and then cross over to those areas in Tennessee we heard were good, I hope this is possible. LOL I appreciate the help.

Marisa

I can tell you that the housing will be much cheaper in Knoxville/Maryville than anywhere in Chapel Hill/Cary area.

And the schools are at least as good if not better in the Maryville/Alcoa (and vast parts of Knox county) as they are over in NC.

Also we have mountains to look at!

Maryville city schools are among the top in the whole state, and probably equal to or better than Cary/Chapel Hill, NC. But make sure to live in the city of Maryville and not the county. Blount County schools are good, but not as good as the city schools. The community is not as upscale as Cary/Chapel Hill but it's heading in that direction. You'll get more for your money in Maryville and probably a better genuine community.

Default relocated from NC to Maryville

I left NC for one big reason the property taxes are skyrocketing and most of the better paying jobs left the state
