How is the parking in Knoxville? Are there parking lots? Or are the only options to either pay to get into a parking garage or find a place to parallel park? If so, is it easy to find a spot to park? Or do you have to circle an area a few times before finding one? I’m just curious because I’m thinking about moving right outside of Knoxville (after a job offer is accepted, of course). However, even though I want to live right outside Knoxville, I plan on actually driving to Knoxville a lot (possible Work, activities, friends, events, etc). I’m just wondering how the parking situation is. I’m from Long Island, and whenever I went to NYC, there was absolutely no place to find parking. I’m just wondering how this is compared to Knoxville. Thanks!

If you mean Downtown Knoxville, then all the parking garages are free after 6pm weekdays and all day weekends (except on game days). There are plenty of metered parking spaces available too.

Not all the parking garages downtown are free, but most are.

Outside of when an event is happening downtown (or game day), parking is pretty easy to find.

Most of us drive everywhere and seldom pay to park. Kingston Pike is one long shopping/business strip and each store provides free parking.

Even downtown finding a place to park isn't an issue on an ordinary day, though there may be a small charge.

NYC and Knoxville are two very different places. I love them both, but not the same animal.
