Looking to relocate to Knoxville in the next few weeks. I need to rent a place for now in Knoxville. I found one in Mechanicsville area but not sure what to make of the reports I am reading on that area? Should it be avoided? And where are the best neighborhoods to rent in - house/townhouse/apartment for families. I am married with one child and another on the way. Thanks!!

I like the area a lot. That doesn't mean that the majority of the people will. It's gentrifying, next to some areas that can be very rough.

I love Mechanicsville, but don't think of it as being family oriented. Are you attracted by the older houses or the proximity to downtown?
