Predominately green, unless at very high elevation.

I just returned from a week camping in Cherokee NC and there is some color over there. In the higher elevations it is peak color, but down here in the valley its still very green. I bet we are two weeks at least before the color gets really good here. If you look up the average time for peak color in the valley it is the very last of October and the first week of November.

Daniel...I was in Cherokee NC for a couple days this past week..... The valley was green and some leaves had fallen. I don't think ( scary) that there won't be an excessive amount of color this year...

In Cherokee there was some color by the end of the week, but in the higher elevations of the park there was some decent color. It was really pretty near the chimneys. Maggie Valley seemed to have more color too. It was hit and miss, and really elevation is the determining factor to the level of color. (4000 feet and up) It was certainly cooler over there though, often a good ten degrees cooler than it is here.

Yesterday on the Hike the Smokies FB page there was a LOT of color (looks like peak) but a friend was on the Dragon and at Chilhowee Dam and there was hardly any color there yet.
