Hi, we are moving to Knoxville and may have to rent a place from afar. We drove through the Parkridge neighborhood during the day and saw lots of beautiful houses! However, I am worried that this neighborhood is still a bit transitional and we have a small child. I searched some threads from 2010 and 2011 about this area still having a lot of crime, but I was wondering how it is now.

Thanks for any advice!

It's an active neighborhood with great community spirit but I'd be concerned about renting from afar. Blocks will vary. How old is your child? If young enough they stay in the house or with you, not a big deal. But not the best place for free range children. Will either of you be S-A-H? Having irregular hours helps avert crime. As do dogs.
