I had an inspection in the general area. Long way around detour got me to the house that was just outside the area. Very strange driving by the WalMart with an empty parking lot.

Someone posted on FB that the evacuation area had been expanded (Thursday night), but we never heard anything about that (we have friends who live just outside the evac area). When I google it the latest news update is 23 hours ago. Anyone know if folks have been allowed home yet?

I find it interesting that there is no update from news/locals on the evacuation conditions....

According to the Nashville news, the chemical burned itself out, which was a better thing than the whole load leaking.

They did bring equipment in, to test the air and the soil surrounding the spill.

All the rain was a huge help to keep the chemical cloud from spreading.

Yes, folks were allowed to return to their homes, I think on Friday.

You folks need to subscribe to any one of the Nashville stations. They keep their noses in everything to the point I get sick to death of hearing the repeats. Thennnnn, on Saturday AM, Channel Five does a final recap of the entire previous week. I dutifully listen because I want the weather. Yes I could look on this IPad but I would rather listen to the weather gal on the big TV screen

Continuing on to the new week (are you pursing your lips yet?) There is always an investigative journalist following up on something and reporting because "you heard it here first"

Everyone is allowed back home and to their businesses. This was on the national news, as well as local. Many of my family and friends were affected. This has really been horrible. There were decontamination units set up (yes, you really do have to be decontaminated), the hotzone was pretty large, and first responders were hospitalized. There weren't enough cyanide exposure kits available. Hats off to local first reponders for working together so diligently as well as they could in the middle of the night. It was just awful for local residents and businesses.
