Hello all,I have been trying to transfer to the Knoxville area for close to a year now and it looks like it is finally going to happen.I am a postal carrier and when you put in for transfer you literally have no idea when they will pull your number so to speak. When you do get the notice that you will get your transfer you normally have less than 30 days to move and start at your new office which leads me to my problem.I don't want to be locked into a year lease with a rental until I know what office in Knoxville I will be working at.I have been to the area a few times and love Maryville,Powell,Karns areas but would like to know if there is someplace like Residence Inn or something of the sort that you can rent by the week or if there are rental homes that are month to month.I know it seems like an odd question but the Post Office doesn't give you any kind of warning when you are going to have to move, and like I said I have been waiting over a year for this.
Thanks for any help.

There are a number of extended stay hotels in the Cedar Bluff area (west side of town) including a Residence Inn. I once stayed at Inn Town Suites off Gallagher View Road. It was OK for just me but I wouldn't stay there with the wife. We stayed at the Residence Inn several times during our house search and found it very nice (also pet friendly). A lot depends on what you can afford.

You can also find some reasonably priced options at air bnb (can I say that mods?).
