it looks like we are going to be renting for the first year we are attempting to launch a business for myself and don't want to risk a mortgage on top of running a business. We're curious about places that do residential rentals we would prefer to stay under $1000 a month 2 bedroom 2 bathroom and needs to be pet friendly I have two dogs one of which is listed as an aggressive breed. We would like to be home in a neighborhood in or near Sevierville preferably on the north or eastern side ...I would love to know if anybody knows of any residential rentals any town homes or companies that deal with residential Rentals. I look at Craigslist regularly however it's now written with so much spam it gets tiresome.thanks in advance guys..we are looking to move middle of April.

You might try contacting real estate offices in Sevierville, many handle rentals.
Your pets might be a problem though.

I've checked around some and have found some. The pets aren't going anywhere so I hope I can get something worked out. I always have a challenge when moving because of this, but I always get through. We're open to different things except getting rid of the animals lol. Any recommendations are welcome

It's tough. I'm an animal lover, however, renting property is a business. While I love animals, and own dogs, we no longer allow pets in our rentals.
While I collect a deposit for cleaning, animals have caused much more damage than the deposits cover. Allowing tenants to have animals have cost us money.
The other issue is liability. Having an aggressive breed dog can void our insurance. A lawsuit could cost way more than any rental income.
Its much easier, and more profitable to just not allow pets in our rentals.

As an animal owner, I hope you find someplace to rent. However, a double standard exists, since I won't rent to animal owners. Call me, "Once bit, twice shy".

Oh I know several irresponsible owners have messed it up for responsible owners. I have a ton of great references, some take them others are like your company and just don't. It's so hard. My dogs are crated when I leave, both over 4, potty trained and both formally trained the "aggressive" breed one way more than do many dogs. But insurance is important. Too bad they can't allow me to carry my own insurance..

You may want to try using Trulia. They have rentals on their webpage. I actually am looking for a friend and I get updates when available rentals are posted in a specific price range and area and I pass them along to her.

I do know a real estate firm here in Sevierville offers rentals but I can't say I know how reputable they are, simply because I don't know. I've heard good and bad reviews on them, that's why I say what I do.

Craigslist is good but please please please be careful using them. There was a story last year in Knoxville that a person thought they rented a home and it was vacant. Long story short, the home was for sale and the people who supposedly rented it out and took the money, didn't have anything to do with it. I would hate to hear that happening to anyone; especially here in Sevierville.

I can keep an eye open for you when I'm out and about, if you want, and send you one's I see. I pass one everyday on Old Knoxville Hwy. that's an apt for rent I believe. PM me if you want my help; I don't mind passing along the phone number and location.

Best of luck to you!
Mrs. Mo
