I live off Cedar Lane which is not far from the apartments. The area is fine, I've never had any problems here in almost 2yrs. Being so close to I-75 makes the area highly convenient also, I can get to West Hills in less than 10mins with light traffic. I do recommend she shop at Kroger on Broadway or head down towards the Schaad Rd shopping area as the Winn-Dixie isn't very good. It's fine if you need an item or two real quick but overall it's lacking.

Hiknpaster is correct in that the better values are up north (why I purchased my property up North). I've never lived in or visited Steeplechase but imagine it's on par with the avg. West Knox apartments. I've read some bad reviews but people tend to only get online and review when they have something to complain about. Good luck.

Also, I do run around my neighborhoods at night (10,11,12) and have not felt uncomfortable once. My roommate (and tenants) are outside regularly during the summer evenings as well and there has never been an issue.
