he is literally a bad person, but if you don't follow politics, you wouldn't know that, most people don't they simply vote their party....

grrrrrr

It doesn't have to be a REAL pandemic for those in charge to shut everything down and "fundamentally change" life as we know it. Beshear did it before, and he'll do it again. People proved themselves to be very gullible and very malleable.

I've kept my mouth shut on here and just let all you Republicans carry on, but thought I'd put my 2 cents in (might get some change! lol). It's 7:20 PM Central time and, with 48% of the vote counted, Beshear is leading by 48,000,or about 7%. I didn't vote straight party. My dad told me many moons ago, not to vote party. Listen to the candidates. One main reason I didn't vote all Democrat is there were some that I never saw a bit of political advertising for. Not fond of Russell Coleman for Attorney General. Lot of talk about him around here because he has family in and around Mayfield.
Somebody earlier posted they didn't like the way the Beshear campaign commercials cut off what Cameron was saying right in the middle without hearing the entire sentence. I never liked that either. But the Cameron commercials did the same thing, but with President Biden talking. That's the "I'd like to thank Governor Beshear..." commercials. In politics, that's just more or less "standard procedure". You don't want the people to hear everything the opposing candidate was saying, just enough to make them sound bad. I disagree with that with either party.
I have always believed both parties could work together for their state and/or country. I've seen it done in Frankfort and Washington while I was growing up. Neither party is completely right. I have always believed, and I know this is still in practice on some bills passed, that there's a lot of negotiating behind the scenes to get bills passed.
On Gov. Beshear closing schools during covid, he was following orders from the Trump White House.

I know one thing I know everybody will agree with. I'm glad the election is over with and now we can go back to the usual crazy commercials instead of the political crazy commercials.
As one of my high school teachers used to say, fairy tales used to start "Once upon a time". Now they start "If I am elected."
I'll hush now.

Yes, glad it's over. I don't think anyone is shocked Beshear won reelection. Congrats to those who supported him. I suppose he'll continue on as he has the last 4 years with the state legislature constantly overriding his vetoes.
I've always thought he makes a great cheerleader and face for the state whenever KY is in the national news. He's good at that.

He had no coat tails in the election. Every state wide position that was open and voted on last night was swept by republicans. Glad the checks and balances that help to keep him under some control are still in place.
There's also a good chance republicans will win the White House next year. Beshear will no longer enjoy the backing and support of the President after that.

As earlier predicted, Beshear won. The rest of the Kentucky state leadership went Republican by an easy margin. Any pundit claiming this is some indication of a shifting tide in Kentucky politics is grossly underestimating the appeal of Beshear. The national Democratic Party does not give Beshear the props he deserves.

What appeal? Beshear’s commercials were damaging but he won on “appeal “?

Beshear won because Louisville voted 3:1 for him and that resulted in 100,000 more votes, just in one of 120 counties. Nearly 40% of all the entire votes in Kentucky came from just Louisville.

Basically a glorified mayors race.

Nope, Beshear won because Cameron didn't receive the support he needed in small towns and mid size towns, it's pretty simple. Republicans swept the state other than Beshear's win. Those same folks in Louisville certainly didn't vote republican for attorney general or secretary of state either, yet Democrats lost race after race except for the governor seat.

Don't blame Louisville. Louisville and Lexington combined don't have the population to outvote the small communities if those smaller communities don't split their votes like they did in this election. Beshear is popular almost everywhere in KY, at least enough so to be relected.

Agreed. Kentucky is pretty unique compared to other states in that it's major population centers do not really dominate the states politics. It may have one of the most even population distributions in the country.

It's kind of like I said in my post above. None of the Democratic candidates for the offices other than governor seemed to campaign any. The only one I saw ads for was a few for Attorney General. I figured if they wanted to act like they didn't really want the job, then why vote for them?
