[quote=WyoNewk;27395616] pick your battles more carefully. By using just a little wisdom and a few minutes of your time, and perhaps as much as $20 in parts, you'd still be in the good graces of your landlord and wouldn't be dealing with attorneys and looking for a new place to live. If nothing else, I do hope you learn something good from this.quote]

I am not readin 8 pages. Ks is very strict on Tenant rights. More in favor of the teant than the landlord. Used to be a violation like this would net a $1500 fine from the landlord to you.Maybe still in effect. iirc

Try this.

It's actually worth it. The story isn't anything special, the OP is trying to place her issues on the landlord, while trying to curry favor because she keeps popping kids out, while on public assistance, but the responses from the OP are priceless, accusing anyone who disagrees with her warped views as a slumlord.

Learn responsibility.
No excuse for not researching your own life.
Makes you come across as a bum.

Do you people not get the concept that renters are not supposed to repair things, landlords are. If she BOUGHT a house, it would be her responsibility.

I've never known any renter who didn't repair the little things on their own.

Or if they didn't, follow up constantly with landlord until it IS fixed, instead of running up huge water bills that the tenant is responsible for. Key word "responsible" which the OP clearly isn't in many aspects of her life.

This was a fun thread to read.

I've always fixed things that go wrong in the apartments I've lived in. Small, minor things like toilet repairs and light bulbs have been the majority of the fixes. I've never had to call the landlord over a repair because there was nothing major that has ever happened, but then again I don't have three children and pregnant while I'm on public assistance .

The replies have been spot on and they should of been taken into consideration instead of fueling a swearing meltdown. I'm going to bookmark the SRS thread and read it later.
