Looking for a good neighborhood under 80K (Independence, Raytown: renting, condo)

Hello All,
My name is Danny and my wife's is Jodi, we are renting right now in South KCMO, and are looking to purchase a house. We have a budget of 80k or less and are trying to find a decent neighborhood that we could find a house. We like Loma Vista and would kind of like to stay in that area or around that area. Any Advice would be great. Thank you.

Do you need a house or would a condo/duplex work? You'll have a much easier time if you don't need a house.

Loma Vista. Isn't that somewhere along Blue Ridge Boulevard, just south of Raytown? If so, seems like you could find something in that area for less than 80k.
Several places in Raytown would have something in that range, and Independence has quite a bit to choose from. Yes, even in the better neighborhoods.
From what I've seen, you should be able to get a house, and not just a condo.

Thank you all, we are going to look at a house near loma vista. It looks wonderful from the outside and through the windows(did a little peeping). Friday our realtor is taking us to look inside. Ill let everyone know how it goes.
