Taking a girls trip from KC to Columbia to celebrate a 50th birthday. Any suggestions on quirky, weird things to stop and see along the way. Along the lines of largest ball of twine, etc.

Booneville has a casino or you could venture south to Gravois Mills and get a t-shirt from Big Dick's Halfway Inn.

There is a big outlet mall in Odessa but thats about all I can remember. But, when I make that drive is it usually trying to get to St. Louis as quickly as possible.

I don't know about quirky, but one of my favorite routes across the state is 24 hwy. The "worlds largest pecan" is somewhere near Keytesville, I think. It may be a little far north and out of the way if you're just going to Columbia. If you take 24 and then to 65, it will take you through Arrow Rock, a really neat little place to visit. I also liked Fayette.
