Hey everyone,

I live in St Paul, MN but lived in KC for 5 years recently. I really enjoy that city!

Anyway, I'm looking to do a marathon this year and Im looking strongly at the KCM in mid-October. Has anyone run this race? What did you think in terms of organization, supporters, terrain and expo? And water stations?

Thanks for any feedback you offer.

I ran it last October in 3:45 (drove from St. Louis, where I currently live in a love-hate relationship with the are )
It was fantastic and surprisingly well-organized for a relatively new race.
The course was interesting - some bumps here and there, some of the neighborhoods were blah but most of them were great.
Crowd support was better than I expected.
Water, Gatorade and medical was available every 1.5 to 2.0 miles.
Gu was at miles 9/20
Fruit at miles 14/22
Loved the weekend in KC, it's a great city and better than St. Louis in a few ways.

Go for it, get your 26.2 on!

I volunteered at an aid station last year. This is not a giant race, but well-supported. Fun expo. The race director is an old pro. I'm pretty sure everyone who ran enjoyed it.
