I am 28 and have never gotten a PAP. I feel the need to get my general female health checked out as I've had extremely odd cycles lately. Anyone else use an entire 40 count box of super absorbent tampons from Costco in one day?! Having to change literally every five minutes? Also passing baseball-sized blood clots? Any info would be helpful. I need to find a great affordable doc in the Kansas City area that takes patients without insurance!

This is interfering with my daily life and activities not to mention expensive!

You are losing a lot of blood at once, which can be an indication of a lot of different things, some serious, some less so, and it's probably also causing blood pressure issues and anemia, besides. It's nothing to mess around with. Large clots can be indicators of various conditions, from uterine fibroids to endometrial polyps. This magnitude of blood loss needs to be checked out.

Samuel U. Rodgers Health Center is a recognized leader in affordable care in the area. So is Swope Health Services.

If you are bleeding that much, go to the ER at Truman. They will most likely check you out and give you a referral to a GYN.

I used to have heavy bleeding. Not to the point of having to change a tampon every five minutes, but every 30 minutes, and huge clots. Never had to have anything done for it, but it was no fun.

If there is a chance you could be pregnant, you could be having a miscarriage or may have had an incomplete abortion (miscarriage). Your hormones could be out of whack. There are lots of causes of dysfunctional uterine bleeding.

Do they take patients without insurance? Would love to go today but I can't stand up long enough so I probably shouldn't drive just yet.

You need to see a doctor ! It is NOT normal to bleed that much. Please seek medical attention pronto. BTW, you should post this in the health section.
