KC district to divide Southwest High School into three academies - KansasCity.com (http://www.kansascity.com/2010/11/09/2414559/kc-district-to-divide-southwest.html - broken link)

It's good to know that the district is listening to the concerns of students, teachers and parents. Southwest seemed to be one of the few high schools doing things right, and it would be a damn shame to lose all that positive momentum.

Cutting the after-school tutoring had to be one of the stupidest ways to save money I've ever heard. Kids were actually using it!
