Hi. It will be my first time to be in KC in August. I will arrive KC in the evening and stay in Econo Lodge Inn & Suites Downtown for one night. The next day morning I need to go to Amtrak station on foot, with one or two heavy baggages. So I want to know, from 3240 broadway St. to Amtrak station, which is the best route for walking to Amtrak with baggages?

And also I want to know, is it safe to walk alone on the steets in KC downtown about 6:00 A.M.?

3200 Broadway is not Downtown, but Midtown.

Why not just take the Ward Parkway 51 metro bus. It runs frequently and is a very safe and busy route. It will pick you up at 31st and Broadway and take you right to Union Station. It's only $1.50.

Otherwise that's a pretty long walk, especially with baggage. But if you really wanted to do it, I doubt you would any problems walking.

That route is downhill all the way. Just give those suitcases a little shove and they'll get down to the station all by themselves.

I agree with kcmo - take the Metro bus.

Thanks Kcmo. I decided to take the bus. I would have to pull heavy baggage in the rally if I didn't get your advice.

There is very frequent service on Main if you wanted to walk from Broadway over to Main. You can take any most northbound buses, MAX or 56 I think. That might be a better option at 6AM because service will be more frequent.
