You go on an interview and they tell you HOW great their company is to work for, really get you interested and then you sit and wait for their call?

I am just tired of people 'talking up' a place till I am really HOPING they pick me...

They say they need someone ASAP...so what do you do...? I am just anxious..
How do you guys stand the wait???

I just take it into consideration that they have other applicants to see and that several other people are probably going through the same waiting process as myself. Just don't bank all your hopes into one job- I've only gone through this once but I remember continuuing to set up interviews and sending out resumes even while waiting for call backs at other jobs.

They give that same song to everyone. Whether or not the hiring manager actually wants you is not their decision. It's a sales job.

Trust me I feel your pain.. and if you ask the Human Resources people... they are swamped with work.. Here is the deal.. with todays age.. the hiring process has gotten cumbersome so that it is "politically correct". Little do they know.. they have slowed down the process of hiring someone to where it takes you 3 months to actually have someone in processed. Trust me I Deal with this crap all the time!

It is not in the interest of HR to fill every position with the ideal candidate as quickly as possible. If they make the process as efficient as it really should be, they would be out of a job. It's an interesting balance, really.

These companies spend millions of dollars to have a consultant come in, analyze every inch of a plant and make it run lean. Then they have to hire managers that are certified in the lean process. (At a premium price, of course.)
