Jaguars are probably the most unreliable luxury cars you can buy. I've seen more of those pulled over on the interstate than any car, luxury or not.
JD Powers reliability survey doesn't agree with you, at least with cars manufactured in the last 5 years. I have had over 6 Jaguars and have NEVER had one fail to start, or break down. That includes an XJ6, 2 XJ8's, 2 S-Types and an X-Type.

May just be certain models or older ones. Either way, I've seen more Jaguars broken down on the interstate than any other car.
I see one here and there here in Southern California, but no more than about one every 2 months. I don't have the numbers, but I remember reading that the European figures are much more reassuring.
I did some work for Jaguar on this car and well I'm in love. I've always been a BMW or Audi man, but I'm sold on the XF. Great styling, performance and handling dynamics. The interior is great. The touch screen very intuitive and simple buttons and controls.
So, how good are these? I'm considering a 2009 or 2010, either a 4.2 SC, 5.0, or 5.0 SC.
I really don't need the 5.0 SC but if the price is right, I'd like one.
Any reliability issues?
