Hi,
We are moving over to St. Augustine because my husband is being transferred there to take over a store. We used to live in Tampa about 3 years ago before going to the west coast, but have never been to St. Augustine. It looks beautiful from the pictures I have seen, but know very little about it.

Are there "bad" areas there that we should avoid? We have 2 children 7 and 3 and so schools are important to us as well. Any information anyone has - good or bad would be great!

Thanks,

AD

Hey Ad, I spend many weekends down in the Oldest City and its a pretty good place, like most cities theres going to be violence anywhere you go but expect to be immersed in alot of history and its very scenic and nice there.

But St Auggie is known as "The drinking village with a fishing problem"

Default Schools downtown only mediocre

St. augustine public schools are not the best. I think St. Augustine High only rated as a "c" school or even a "d". The schools west of downtown are rated much more highly. However, St. Josephs Academy is a good private school.

Although, many of the kids go to Nease High School, which is an A rated school and has been for many many years and has a wonderful stellar reputation so , it just depends where you live. Do your research if schools are very important to you. They are also building new schools in the area.
