Hello, I'm looking into the area for relocation from northeast in the next year. I see a very nice home in the Oakleaf Plantation area in Clay County that meets the criteria we are looking for size, but uncertain after viewing the high school rating of 6. Price point looking between 400k-550k with about 3000 plus sqft, safe high school with AP offerings, sports are not important. Other considerations are for a home age under 10 years up to new build, 5 bed, 3 car garage, neighborhood with sidewalks. Would like any feedback to consider when comparing Oakleaf/Clay County over St Johns County homes.

Oakleaf is pretty nice, but few would pick that over St Johns county. You have the budget for St Johns, even new builds. The biggest con to going with Oakleaf is probably your long term house value. Farther from the ocean, so it will probably appreciate slower. Also traffic can be pretty terrible in Clay county.
