Coming from VT/NH? I would say Callahan would be a great fit then. The more country areas around Jax have a similar feel to the farming communities in those states honestly. Callahan Elementary/Middle/West Nassau High are rated fairly well.

Yes I know that!

I am Canadian, so my whole family is in Montreal. That is why we also looked at NH/VT. It is for sure 3 really different states lol My husband lived 8years ago in Jacksonville for a few years. His parents (retired) live in Jacksonville also. They have been helping us, but I thought this forum might help us even more for the good areas/areas to avoid.

Also up in Nassau county if you were willing to be a bit more county, Hilliard and Callahan would have homes that fit the description. Schools are pretty good in those areas too. It honestly wouldn't be too different from much of Green Cove Springs and Middleburg, just a bit farther from some retain centers.
Thank you so much!

And what about the areas to avoid? We found a house we liked (zip code 32210) but we were told to avoid that area.

Which are bests area? (Safety wise, for schools we are always willing to drive our little ones)

Although The World Golf Village area is mostly HOA developments. There are many homes in the general area that are not in the developments. Some have large lots and the schools are top notch.

How bad is that area? Tried looking up things and everywhere it just says it is an area with a lot of crime. We want the safest place possible for our little ones, of course!

Jacksonville offers a ton of opportunities for families now. There are great medical facilities and even 24-hour pediatric providers (www.24hourkidcare.com), lots of shopping, and again, this is all going to be dependant on what your family needs. Take a look around at the vast amount of areas that Jacksonville has to offer. Seems like there are plenty of realtors who can help you out here.

He was kidding. Moncrief area is ground zero for Jacksonville's Northside ghetto. It's not an area you want to raise your children in because of gunfire & drug sales.
