Yeah I know what you mean, I went outside at about 11:30 tonight and the smell of gunpowder and smoke was everywhere. While walking up to the Mojo BBQ earlier, it sounded like the night we went into and liberated Kuwait in 91.

This was our first New Years Eve in FL. Missed my usual thing of spending the night with my best friend at his house in NY (did that the last 9 years) but we had a blast with our neighbors. Lots of fireworks all over the place and my neighbor brought out Puerto Rican moonshine. My other neighbor (she's 75) was doing splits by the end of the night.

We really enjoyed ourselves.

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year to everyone here on the Jax forum!

Wife and I knew that we wouldn't make it to midnight, but I did wake up a minute before and heard both gun shots and fireworks. To me, people living in complexes around us KNOW the danger of firing live ammo into the sky, KNOWING the bullet has to come down somewhere.......but they simply don't care! "Oh well" they think.

It was report on CNN this AM that a 12 yr old boy was hit in the top of the head by a stray New Years Eve celebratory gun fire bullet. The bullet went thru the top of his head and is stuck in his cheek. The boy is in critical condition as of right now.
