Looking for some information on Jacksonville. Coming to visit to do an "area" search for homes and schools. We have a raising 7th grader and need to find a home in June. But I need to physically see the areas that are online. Thinking St.Johns, but need some areas that I should NOT miss while visitng??? Relocating in July, husband will drive to Sector JAcksonville (USCG). HELP.

Well, the Riverside & Avondale historic district was named a Top 10 neighborhood in America just a couple months ago.

I'd say that's worth checking out, eh!

Great Places in America: Neighborhoods

Residents already know how great Jacksonville's Riverside-Avondale area is | jacksonville.com

Avondale

These 2 realtors specialize in the area, if you're interested:

Here's a good info about Duval Schools: http://schools.jacksonville.com/fcat...&action=Search & Duval County Public Schools Magnet Programs

You'll find it's a mixed bag, just depending on the school. Unless it's just a school in a bad area, they are what you put in to it, more or less.
