You all have been a big help giving information about Iowa City. Can you tell me about Decorah?

Actually, I would think the biggest downside to living in Decorah is that it's pretty far from any larger city. It's an hour and a half to La Crosse, Wisconsin, which is the nearest larger center for shopping. Dubuque and Waterloo are 2 hours away.

I've never been to Decorah, but from what I hear, it's a very nice town.

I almost moved to Decorah a decade ago. Back then I visited it a couple times per month. It's a beautiful town, imho the best Iowa has to offer. Housing was a little costlier than in most towns of its size, and there wasn't too much available. I'm sure it's grown since then.

Decorah is a great trtaditional looking small town. Rochester , Minnesota is within driving distance as well as the others that have been mentioned. If you can make a living there and like small towns, go for it!
