St. Louis was a bigger deal when I was a kid, too, but these days I very seldom hear anyone talking about going there for a jaunt other than to a Cardinal game. I don't know is St. Louis has slipped or if other places have just increased what they have to offer, or if there's some other reason.

Same here. Frankly, I'd rather go to Hannibal, Galena, or the Amanas than any of the larger cities named in this thread. But I acknowledge that my tastes are a bit unconventional.
