I am thinking about moving to mason city and i did some research and it sounds good, but i was wondering what do people think about the town. I am 21 years old and i have a one-year old, so what does mason city have for young adults like myself and places for toddlers. i like to skateboard and dance. i know mason city has a skatepark, but is it any good? what are the daycares like? and is it easy to good a decent job? like me know what you think. Thanks!

I used to live in Mason City. I am really into skateboarding, though I have never been to the Mason City skatepark Ive seen it. My friend says the skatepark there is'nt that good, but i think it looks way better than ours. Mason city has a nice mall and nice school systems with lots of activities. They do have a lot of day care centers.

I have always liked Mason City. It has some wonderful parks, great museums, and arguably the best residential architecture in the mid-west (save Chicago). It is the retail hub for a large geographic area and consequently offers a good mix of stores for a city of it's size.

I do think that the city lacks entertainment options for your age group though. And it's economy has been terribly stagnant for the last 20 years - the job market really reflects that (low pay). What sort of training/education/interests do you have as far as finding work?
