Anyone on here happen to be impacted by how the recently passed SECURE act impacts inherited (non-spousal) IRA's?

Previously, someone inheriting a non-spousal IRA was required to begin taking an annual RMD, but could extend the IRA over their lifetime. The new law eliminates the RMD requirement, but requires all of the IRA to be withdrawn within 10 years.

My question: For someone (me) who is in this situation and has been taking RMD's for several years, since this is a new law, does the 10-year clock start now, or is it retroactive to the year I inherited the IRA?

Thanks for any comments or feedback.

You have been taking RMDs from the Inherited IRA already? You are unaffected by this provision in the SECURE Act. It began 1/1/2020 so anyone previously taking RMDs is still under the old laws.

Thank you! You're right; I overlooked a "minor" detail. I appreciate your help.
