I own and regularly buy VZ, KMP, C, SCHB, which collectively make up about 15% of my portfolio. I consider these to be long-term buys. Lately I've been considering diversifying my portfolio by adding some real estate exposure (VNQ) and a position in tax free municipal bonds (SWNTX).
Only twice in 2011 did I sell stock. I took some profits on C and GLD in January and July, respectively.
My speculative stocks right now are TTI and ANR, the latter of which are shares left over from when ANR acquired MEE (I owned MEE -- took the cash and, regrettably, let the shares ride).
The only stock I own with any sort of long-term horizon is Microsoft, otherwise its all trading volatile stocks (or their options). I'm looking at T, TGT and WLP for the longish term though.
What about Ford Motor shares? Any chance they go up?
