My favorite site to get the latests news is Google news. I like the way they organize it and give you access to any other website's news by providing direct links.

What do you use?

My meat and potatoes: BBC tends to have US news stories consolidated into one concise article, oftentimes with facts not yet reported in the US press, even on breaking stories. Can't even find it at the same time straight off the AP wire... how do they do it?

The rest I quickly peruse, virtually daily. I like a variety of wildly opposing news sites, some far left or right to see how every side thinks (I'm neither, by the way) and some purely for entertainment, stark-raving nutter value. You decide which is which:

IrishTimes.com
DrudgeReport.com
HuffingtonPost.com
DebbieSchlussel.com
BreakForNews.com
DailyMail.co.uk
Online.WSJ.com
VanityFair.com

Those are my big five.

Asia Times is good for general international news analysis - doesn't confine itself to Asia ! Asia Times Online :: Asian news hub providing the latest news and analysis from Asia Market Oracle is good for financial and economic analysis - mostly about the US despite being British http://www.marketoracle.co.uk/
